Stage One Finger Foods
Suitable from around 6 months, when your baby is showing signs of readiness for solids and can sit upright with support.
Soft foods that can be easily squashed between two fingers and do not require chewing. These foods are designed to be a gentle introduction to self-feeding and are suitable as first finger foods for babies beginning their solids journey.
Stage One Finger Foods encourage babies to explore new textures, tastes and temperatures while learning how to pick up food and bring it to their mouth. The soft texture allows the food to break down easily, making it appropriate for babies who are still developing their oral motor skills and learning how to manage food safely.
These foods can be offered as part of baby-led weaning or alongside purees, helping babies build confidence and independence at mealtimes.
Preparation Instructions
To serve warm: Place frozen food into a microwave-safe bowl or heat proof bowl over gently simmering water.
To serve cold: Thaw in the fridge overnight. Once defrosted, use within 24 hours. Discard any uneaten food at the end of the meal. Do not refreeze.
